Chickadee Artistry

I grew up raising chickens and fell in love with the little guys. Funnily enough, it helped shape my career! I got to intern at U.C. Davis School of VetMed Cooperative Extension as an undergraduate student (even though I didn’t attend UCD!) for a summer on their pastured poultry husbandry team. Waking up early and checking on the flock was no problem, especially if it meant I got a little chickie time. A few years and a grant later, I got my dream job offer as a full-time staff member in the same lab I interned at. I learned a lot in that position, and got lots of chicken illustrations done!
